Jayapura - Holtekam Bridge construction in Papua is now entering the end phase. The ministry of public works and public housing  (PUPR) reportedly of bridge development with the longest curve steel will accelerate the process that estimated  at finish earlier then the time targeted,  i.e. of July 2018.

We planed on September 2018, under the circumstance maybe on july, event faster. To start the operation is depending on around connecting, Minister Basuki Hadimulyono stated.

Basuki added the bridge will also be impacted to Jayapura city development,the other side on shorten travel time among the Jayapura and Skow border with a faster time.

With this bridge also to control over the progress of city of Jayapura in mountains western part from reaching forest damaging risk to have water source in sustaining Jayapura city, Minister Basuki explained.

Now there are two spans or bridge middle span installed, it posses 20 meters high per each, width 26 meters,lenghth 112,5 meters and the weight nearly 2000 ton. The bridge construction are only waiting for the next spans , concreting and asphalt installation process as an finalization.

The two bridge main spans are previously un-dismantle transported from Surabaya at the end of the last 2017 by traveling 3.200km away. Basuki said In lifting up the frame it self is the biggest challenge however successfully done without problem using a tugboat.

“Alhamdulillah, (Praise the Lord) both main spans lifted savely. Hopefully it will be a good stepping point in turn, to the next infrastructure development, Minister Basuki said

The bridge construction funded by ministry of public works and public housing (PUPR) while the local government only at road development to connect the bridge and holtekamp region, also the Jayapura local district constructing Hamadi direction road shorter.
