PUPR Develop Infrastructure Tourism Industry
Jakarta - Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR) plans to build infrastructure in various tourism locations. Among them are Tanjung Lesung, Kepulauan Seribu, Borobudur, South Lampung Botanical Garden, Bromo-Tengger-Semeru, KEK Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, Wakatobi, Morotai and Pia Nemo Papua are planned to be built this year.
"This is built KSPN (National Tourism Strategic Area), KEK (Special Economic Zone) and tourism that do require infrastructure development," said Sri Hartoyo, Director General of Cipta Karya of PUPR Ministry.
According to Sri Hartoyo, PUPR will provide a budget of Rp 686.8 billion to build infrastructure in the tourism sector. The purpose of infrastructure development is to attract the public's antisiasme in visiting the tourist sites. Sri Hartoyo added that the private sector is expected to take part in building infrastructure that has commercial value, because the government only build basic infrastructure.
