Indonesia-Japan Road to 60 Years of Parthership
Tokyo—Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimoeldjono attends the 60 Annual Symposium of Indonesia-Japan Partnership. Basuki attends the event with Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning Bambang Brojonegoro as represented of Jusuf kalla, Rahmat Gobel as Presidential Envoy, General Director of Cipta Karya and the Head of President’s expert team Jusuf Wanandi.
In attending the event, Basuki explains about Indonesia’s development in the increasing of competitiveness value, for example is in the infrastructure development. Ministry of PUPR also explains his desire to Japan be able to join partnership in rehabilitation of dam, bridge and safety, health and environtment training for construction works.
In addition, Basuki also presents about oppportunities for Japan’s Government to invest in Indonesia. Those are investing in toll road, SPAM Regional Mamminasata (Makassar, Maros, Sungguminasa and Takalar), Rural Settelment Infrastructure Development (RSID), Jakarta Sewerage Development Project Zone 1 and Zone 6 and also infrastructure of Mount disaster of Sinabung, Semeru, Kelud, Lokon and Gamalama.
Toll Road investment involves the construction of Padang-Pekanbaru toll road Section II Sicincin-Payakumbuh that hopefully can get the soft loan funding with low interest and long tenor from Japan’s Government. There are 5 tunnels with total length of 8,9 Km that are going to build and plan to penetrate until Bukit Barisan.
Japan has a lot of experiences and knowledge to build long tunnel, and it hopes there will be knowledge and technology transfer to Indonesia’s Government. Beside that, by engage Japan, Indonesia hope to develop the feasibility of Pelabuhan Patimban toll access in Subang, West Java that further will decrease the load of Tanjung Priok Harbour.
A day before the event is held, Basuki and team visit the Japan Former Prime Minister Yasui Fukuda, Special Advisor of the Prime Minister Hiroto Izumi and the Director of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
In between the visit, the team from Indonesia has opportunity to visit the Toshio Gypsum Co. Lt ‘s workshop that they also built in Deltamas Karawang, Indonesia. The company that produces gypsum from recycle of building material is planning to launch on April 2018.
