Monday (4/23/2018), Indonesia President, Joko Widodo conducted the groundbreaking for jenderal Besar Soedirman Airport (BJB Soedirman) in Purbalingga. The construction will be taken in two phase. First is the construction of 1.600 meter runway, second is the construction for 2.500 meters runway and also the 3.000 meters terminal passengers that will accomodate 300 thousands passengers in a year.

Purbalinggan and the sorround areas are now having a good investment growth especially in export oriented, such as the faux eye lashes in Purbalingga that hiring 60 thousands workers. This is what makes Jokowi optimistic that the airport will increase another investment growth to reach another area surround Purbalingga.

Jokowi hopes to BJB gives positive vibes to Purbalingga and another 8 districts such as Banjarnegara, Kebumen, Banyumas, Pemalang, Tegal, Brebes, Tegal City dan Wonosobo.

“Everyone can take advantage on this airport. We hope there will be more new economic growth around,” said Jokowi.

Regent of Purbalingga, Tasdi and Central Java Caretaker, Heru Sudjatmiko are very welcome to BJB Soedirman Airport is starting to construct. Both of them hope, the sirport that plan to be complete at the end of 2019 is capable to increase the investment growth in West and South of Central Java .
