PUPR Builds Basic Infrastructure in Asmat
To develop the quality life of Asmat citizen in Papua Province, government through Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) programs to build short term and long term infrastructure. For Asmat is a clean water prone area, so PUPR focuses on clean water and sanitation infrastructure.
“Our team was being there to build basic infrastructure that are needed. This is a marsh area so we need to manage the water worth to consumed. Beside that, to develop the water resources, we also add the dam and deep well quantity,” said Minister Basuki.
Agats is the capital of Asmat, will have 3 new reservoirs with 1.000 m3 capacity and the distributed to the public hydrant near by the residential. One of them will plan to build near by the General Hospital Center (RSUD) Agats.
Previously, Agats has one deep well and will have another 3 new deep well with 150-200 meter depth. Agats will also have Water Treatment Installation (IPA) with the same capacity of 10 L/sec that capable to supply 2.000 houses. The oldest raw water pipe network will be repaired by adding the new pipe of 28 Km.
Furthermore, in District Fayit one reservoir is going to build and District Atsj will rehab raw water pipe network of 500 meter length and construct new network of 5,6 Km length.
To sanitation, PUPR provide communal toilet and septic tank communal, complete with the reservoir that will be located on the public facility and social facility such as shool and clinic. The toilet communal will be spread in 8 unit in 5 districts, those are Agats, Atjs, Pantai Kasuari, Awyu and Fayit, and 100 units communal septic tank will be build in Distric Agats.
Last, for the trash processing, PUPR build one unit of trash processing place that implement Reuce, Reduce and Recycle that organized by the citizen. PUPR gives Agats 3 trash truck and 100 basket that given to the head of Asmat regional assembly, Yusak Bokowi to located surround the District Agats residences.
