Minister of Transportation Groundbreaking New Terminal In Padang
Padang - The discourse of Padang City government finally started a new terminal construction project in Padang City. In improving the capacity and transportation services while ensuring transportation connectivity in Padang City, the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, conducted groundbreakingdevelopment project of Type A Terminal, Anak Air Padang, West Sumatera.
Accompanied by Members of the Presidential Advisory Council, Sidarto Danusubroto, Wako Padang, Mahyeldi Ansharullah, Special Staff of the Minister of Public Works, Firdaus Ali, Director General of Land Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, Kadishub, West Sumatera Amran and also West Sumatra Representative Representative Wahyu Permana Putra stated that the construction of this terminal is intended to create inter-regional connectivity in West Sumatra, especially in the city of Padang.
"Connectivity is a must therefore we imagine from Padang to other cities it must be connected well and at certain points where in this city there must be a terminal which is a change of mode from one mode to another mode," said Minister Budi.
The construction of this terminal is planned to take 2 years with a total budget of Rp 72 billion, using the State Budget of 2018 of Rp 7.5 billion and the remaining Rp 64.5 billion from APBN 2019.
Furthermore, Minister Budi conveyed in the construction of type A terminal will be given space to private sector either in central or private area, such as cooperation of Government and Business Entity together.
"Indeed we want to build but also want to involve the private sector so that the construction of this terminal faster and these funds can roll not only in the terminal but also other functions such as lighting lamps, bus rapid transit and so on," explained Minister Budi.
On the same occasion, Mayor of Padang Mahyeldi said his readiness to fully support the construction of this type A Water Child terminal.
"The people here are very supportive, hopefully it will run in rapid development time and everything will go smoothly, the people of Padang City will fully support to support the smoothness of its development," said Mahyeldi.
Furthermore, Mahyeldi said that in the future, it will also integrate Trans Padang mass transit, which currently has only one corridor of the six corridors planned. The goal is to break down the congestion, reduce the density of public transport in the city of Padang.
"Later this is not the only terminal in Padang City, in the future we will also build a type B terminal which is also integrated with KAI station. The location is planned in Bukit Putus, Bungus Kecamatan Teluk Kabung, "he said.
He mentioned that the development plan of infrastructure and transportation facilities is not only supported by the central government and local government, but also fully supported by the people of Padang City.
